Selling a stroller on Facebook Marketplace? Buying a bike off Craigslist? Porchpin makes sure you both actually show up.

The seller sends one link. The buyer confirms a time with a small refundable card hold — released the moment the pickup happens, charged only on a no-show. Porchpin never touches the payment for the item itself.

How it works

1. Confirm. The buyer picks a time and places a small refundable hold (typically $5–$10).

2. Remind. Both parties get text reminders before the pickup.

3. Meet. A quick code exchange at handoff releases the hold instantly.

Nobody profits from no-shows. The hold exists so both people show up — if the seller doesn't, the buyer is released immediately.

About text messages: Porchpin sends transactional SMS — pickup confirmations, reminders, and status updates — only to users who provide their phone number while confirming or creating a pickup. Message frequency varies by pickup (typically 2–4 messages). Message & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. No marketing messages are sent.

Terms & Privacy

Porchpin is operated by Bruce Gordon (sole proprietor) and is currently in pre-launch development. Porchpin is a scheduling and commitment tool: it is not a party to any sale, does not hold funds for items, and makes no representations about items or participants. Refundable holds and any no-show fees are processed by Stripe; card numbers are never stored on Porchpin servers.

We collect only what the service needs: phone numbers, pickup details, and payment processing metadata. We do not sell personal data. To request deletion of your data, or for any question, email hello@porchpin.com.
